Candidates who possess qualifications mentioned below may attend the WALK-IN-WRITTEN TEST for the following posts on the dates and time mentioned against each posts at National Institute of Virology (NIV), Gorakhpur Unit, BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur- 270 013 (Uttar Pradesh) with all the original certificates, including Community Certificate and recent passport size photograph. The selected candidates will be posted at Gorakhpur to  work under ICMR funded  project entitled “Research-cum- Intervention project on JE/AES” in Gorakhpur. The appointment to the project posts will be purely temporary and on adhoc basis and the duration of project will be four months (likely to be extended)

I.          PROJECT TECHNICIAN DATE: 18.07.2016 a. Essential qualification	-I:   No. of post - 03 (UR-2, OBC-1):          Application form  TIME:  09 AM TO 11.00 AM 10th/Matric/High School/equivalent with one year laboratory technology experience from Government/recognized institute or with certificate of one year training in the laboratory technology. (*12th pass in Science subjects shall be treated as equivalent to 2 years experience)

12th pass with Biological  Science subjects and two years diploma (DMLT)

(OR)

12th pass with Biological Science subjects with one year DMLT and one year experience in a recognized organisation as Technician-B or two years  field/laboratory experience* in bio-medical techniques in Govt.  recognized organization

(*B.Sc degree in Biological Science shall be treated as 3 years experience)

To assist in the conduction of entomological investigations in lab/field. Laboratory work pertaining to analysis of mosquito samples for age determination, blood meal identification, virus detection, etc. Preparation and maintenance of reagents for the field and laboratory purpose, sterilization of glass/plastic wares.

Not exceeding 30 years on the date of Walk-in-Written Test Rs.17,040/- per month (Nett.)

III.   DATA ENTRY OPERATOR-A  -       01 post (UR) :

recognized board.

Pass in Typewriting Lower Grade

PPT, etc. and compilation of data and other related works as assigned by the superiors.

Not exceeding 30 years on the date of Walk-in-Written Test Rs.16,188/- per month (Nett.)

IV.   SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (NON-MEDICAL) – No. of post - 01 (UR):

DATE: 19.07.2016 (TUESDAY)                            TIME: 02.00 PM TO 04.00 PM

a.  Essential qualification       :               Post-graduate degree in Zoology/Medical Entomology with

NET qualification and two years of research experience.

b.  Nature of Duties                  :               Field and laboratory work related to base-line data collection on

entomological parameters of Japanese encephalitis vectors.

c.  Age limit                                  :               Below 35 years on the date of Walk-in-Written Test.

d.  Fellowship                              :               Rs.28,000/- per month + HRA as per rules.

OTHER INFORMATION:

• Age relaxation is applicable only to the post under reserved category, as per Govt. of India norms.
• Qualification and experience should be from an organization of repute.
• Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee for the selection.
• Person already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/Organizations are not eligible to apply.

• Candidates who wish to appear for the Walk-in-Written Test can download the application format given in the Centre’s Web Site of Vector Control Research Centre (www.vcrc.res.in).  Duly filled in application along with the self attested copies of certificates in proof of Date of birth, Educational Qualification (Certificate/ Statement of marks), Experience as mentioned under essential qualification and Community certificate (SC/ST/ OBC) must be enclosed with the application and submitted at the time of  Walk-in- Written-Test.
• No travelling allowance will be paid to the candidate for appearing the Walk-in-written test.
• The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointments in any ICMR Institutes/Centres for continuation of his/her services in any other project.
• Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or bringing political or other outside influence with regard to selection shall be a disqualification and such candidates will not be entertained.
• The decision of the Director, VCRC, Puducherry is final in this regard.

INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING WRITTEN TEST

• He/She will be allotted with a Registration Number and this must be written by him/her on the space provided in the Question & Answer Booklet.

• The Written Test is of 90 minutes duration with a total number of 100 multiple choice objective type Questions. The medium of the Test will be in English.

• For the post of Senior Research Fellow the questions will be of post graduation level in zoology/medical entomology.

• For the post of Project Technician-III the questions will be of Plus II Science and DMLT level. For the post of Project Technician-I the question will be of 10th/Matric/High School level.

• For the post of Data Entry Operator-A the questions will be of Plus II level in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science.

• There will be negative marking. For each wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted.

• 6.  Question & Answer Booklet will be provided in the examination Hall. Answers should be marked carefully as per instructions given in the booklet. Candidates are instructed to use only Ball Pen (Blue) for marking the Answers.

• 8. Question & Answer Booklet should be handed over to the Hall Supervisor at the end of the test.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

• Candidates are required to be present at the respective venues at 9.00 AM -11.00 AM and the Walk-in- Written Test will commence after verification of all the original certificates.

• No  calculators,  log  tables,  communication  devices  like  cell-  Phone  (Mobile),  Tablet/iPad  etc.  are allowed inside the examination hall.

• Request for revaluation of Answers will not be entertained.

• Candidates who resort to malpractice of any kind will immediately be sent out of the Examination Hall.
