class in the preceding degree in Electrical Engineering branch and with
very good academic record throughout.
BE Electrical with first class with relevant
experience in the Area of work can also apply.

Area of work

1) Pollution mapping of eastern
and southern region
of transmission system
(Powergrid)’ for assisting in:
a)
Calculation and classification of pollution level
prevailing in southern and eastern
region of India
b)
ESDD and NSDD calculation from
site measurements for 8 seasons in southern
region
c)
Chemical analysis of pollutants
prevailing in southern
and eastern region
of India
d)
Generation of pollution map and pollution mapping
report based
on ESDD and NSDD measurements for the project.
AND
2) RC Project on ‘A Laboratory Investigation for Standardization of Testing
Method for Pollution Performance of Polymer
Insulators’ for assisting in :
a)
Salt fog method as per IEC 60507 will be carried
out on polymers including pre-conditioning process.
b)
Solid layer method
as per IEC 60507 will be followed with different coating materials and different layer thickness in an attempt to make
insulator totally hydrophilic.
c)
Tracking & Erosion
Test will be performed to check the effectiveness of the coating material used on insulator. The hydrophobicity levels on insulator surface will be measured using contact
angle measurement techniques as per STRI Guidelines. Laboratory Goniometer/Gonio meter are used to measure the contact
angle.
d)
Formulate a standard test method,
fulfilling all the requirements to test the pollution performance of polymeric insulator.
e)
The Project Associate shall be well conversant with pollution test methods
as per IEC 60507 as
well as IEC 6217
and IEC 61109.
