To meet requirements for the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC), Cochin Shipyard Limited, a premier Mini Ratna Company of Government of India invites Online applications to the following posts for appointment on contract basis:

Age shall not exceed 30 years as on 24 August 2016 relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD.

Method of Selection

For selection to the posts of Fabrication/Outfit Assistants, General Worker Canteen and Semi Skilled Rigger, Practical test may be conducted and for selection to the post of Project Assistants, OMR based Objective type Written test may be conducted. Applicants who have submitted applications through online and forwarded the print out of Online Application (Confirmation Page),Demand Draft in original (as applicable) and self-attested copies of certificates towards proof of age, caste, educational qualification, experience etc by post will be short-listed for the Practical test/OMR based Objective type written test. Dates of Practical test/OMR based Objective type written test will be intimated through SMS/e-mail to all short- listed applicants and schedule will be published on Cochin Shipyard website www.cochinshipyard.com (Careers page). Only those applicants who are short-listed and intimated need to appear for the Practical test/OMR based Objective type written test.

Application Fee and How to Apply:

Applicants meeting the requirements notified shall submit their application through online only from 01 August 2016 and the facility can be accessed through our website www.cochinshipyard.com (Careers page). Application submitted direct or in any other mode will not be accepted.

Applicants should have a unique mobile number for applying to the posts.

Application fee of ` 100/-(Non-refundable) (in the case of Unreserved and OBC applicants) is applicable for all posts. Fee in the form of a crossed Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED on any Nationalised bank payable at Kochi should be sent in original along with print out of Online Application form (Confirmation page) and self-attested copies of certificates to The Chief General Manager (HR), Cochin Shipyard Ltd, Kochi-682015 by post.

Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Person with Disability (PWD) need not pay application fee. They are exempted from payment of application fee.

The envelope containing the Online Application form (Confirmation page) and original DD (in the case of Unreserved and OBC applicants) should be superscribed as “Application to the post of  ……………………  (Name  of  Post  and  Discipline)  on  contract  basis  &  Registration  No.

……………..".The name of the candidate, post applied for and Registration No. should be clearly

written on the back side of the Demand draft.

• No other mode of payment will be accepted. DD should be taken after the date of publication of this advertisement.

• Applicants should read the General Instructions given at the top of the page before filling the online application. Applicants should not apply for more than one post nor submit more than one application. Application once submitted shall be final.

• Applicants should ensure that all the entries have been correctly filled in and application submitted successfully. Filling of garbage/junk details in any of the fields can lead to rejection of your application.

• Application Form must be complete in all respects as per the Advertisement Notification. Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.

• After applying through online, applicants are required to take two print outs of the Online Application (Confirmation Page) with unique Registration Number generated by the system. One copy of the Online Application (Confirmation Page) along with self-attested copies of certificates towards proof of age, caste, educational qualification, experience etc and DD in original (in the case of Unreserved and OBC applicants) should be sent to “The Chief General Manager (HR), Cochin Shipyard Ltd, Kochi-682015” by post and retain one copy with them for their reference. • The website will remain functional for the purpose from 01 August 2016 to 24 August 2016. The Last date for submission of applications through online is 24 August 2016.

• It is important to note that, the candidature will be considered only on receipt of applications through online. In addition, the candidature of Unreserved and OBC applicants will be considered only on receipt of the Demand draft by post.

• Last Date of receipt of Online Application (Confirmation Page) along with self-attested copies of certificates towards proof of age, caste, educational qualification, experience etc and Demand draft in original by post is 31 August 2016. Applications received after the stipulated date will not be considered and online applications of those Unreserved and OBC applicants who have not sent the original DD and self-attested copies of certificates to CSL by post will not be considered for short-listing.

General

• Applicants meeting the eligibility requirements and short-listed only will be allowed to appear for the Practical test/ OMR based Objective type written test. Applicants are advised to make sure that they are meeting the eligibility requirements as per the notification for the post, before submitting applications through online.

• Applicants who apply to the post at Sl. No. E, Project Assistants on contract are required to download the            call letter for OMR based Objective type written test from Shipyard website www.cochinshipyard.com (Careers page) on dates, which will be notified later by e-mail/SMS/through website only. The call letters will not be sent to the eligible applicants by post.

• In the case of selection to the posts at Sl Nos. A, B, C and D, the registration numbers of only applicants short-listed for Practical test will be published on Shipyard website along with the schedule for Practical test. Applicants who get short-listed for the Practical test are required to download the call letter for Practical test from Shipyard website www.cochinshipyard.com (Careers page) on dates, which will be notified later by e-mail/SMS/through website only. The call letters will not be sent to the eligible applicants by post.

• Depending upon number of online applications received for all the posts, Shipyard reserves the right to stipulate a minimum mark in the qualifying examination to reduce the number of applicants to be called for the Practical test/ OMR based Objective type written test.

• For posts at at Sl. No. E, Project Assistants on contract, applicants short-listed for the OMR written test should bring Call letter downloaded from Shipyard website, online application print out, a photo-identity proof (in original) like PAN Card/Aadhar Card/Driving Licence/Voters Card etc., failing which they will not be allowed to attend the written test. Their candidature is provisional subject to verification of original certificates towards proof of age, qualification, experience, caste, disability etc and self-attested copies of all certificates, at the time of certificate verification which will be held subsequent to the written test and their candidature will be considered on the strength of those certificates.

• For posts at Sl Nos. A, B, C and D, Fabrication/Outfit Assistants, General Worker Canteen and Semi Skilled Rigger, applicants short-listed for the Practical test should produce Call letter downloaded from Shipyard website, online application print out, a photo-identity proof (in original) like PAN Card/Aadhar Card/Driving Licence/Voters Card, original certificates towards proof of age, qualification, experience, caste, disability etc and self-attested copies of all certificates for certificate verification and their candidature will be considered on the strength of those certificates. In case of failure to produce the original certificates, the candidature will be rejected and they will not be allowed to attend the Practical test.

• For attending the Practical test, the applicants should bring tight fitting cotton working dress and safety shoes.

• No TA/DA will be paid to the applicants for attending the Objective type Written test / Practical test.

• Shipyard reserves the right to call for any additional documentary evidence in support of educational qualification and experience of the applicants indicated in their online application.

• Mere submission of application through online and Issue of call letter shall not confer any right to the candidate of acceptance of candidature or cannot be construed as an acknowledgement of fulfilling the eligibility criterion.

• Cochin Shipyard reserves the right to change the number of vacancies, and the vacancies notified may not be filled up. Further, Cochin Shipyard Ltd. reserves the right to restrict/alter/cancel/modify the recruitment process, if need so arises without notice or assigning any reason thereof.

• The vacancies are purely on contract basis for a specific period of three years and Cochin Shipyard is not liable to offer appointment during or after the completion of contract period of the selected applicants.

• Applicants should be of sound health and satisfy the medical fitness standards as fixed by Shipyard.
• The selected candidates should undergo a medical examination in the hospitals prescribed by Shipyard and medical fitness of all candidates is further subject to certification by the Company Medical Officer.

• The number of vacancies indicated will not necessarily be filled up and will be based on suitability of applicants and availability of projects and job requirement. Further, Cochin Shipyard Ltd, reserves the right to restrict/alter/cancel/modify the recruitment process, if need so arises without notice or assigning any reason thereof.

• No correspondence regarding the rejection of candidature in case of ineligibility will be entertained.

• Any legal proceedings in respect of any claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in the Courts/Tribunals/Forums at Ernakulam and such courts/authorities shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction.
